BECOME SNA CERTIFIED

The SNA Certification Program is designed to provide recognition to our members that develop and encourage the highest standards in school foodservice and nutrition programs.

Why should you become certified?

Professional recognition from peers and superiors

Greater understanding of the role school foodservice and nutrition programs play in child development

There are three levels of certification. Basic requirements include:

Level 1

1 year of child nutrition experience
Less than a high school diploma/GED
30 Specialized Training Hours
15 Continuing Education Credits every three years

Level 2

1 year of child nutrition experience
High school diploma/GED
90 Specialized Training Hours
30 Continuing Education Credits every three years

Level 3

1 year of child nutrition experience
Post-secondary education
150 Specialized Training Hours
45 Continuing Education Credits every three years

Applying For Certification

Complete the certification application. It can be obtained from the Certification Section in SNA-VA Important Documents
Pay Certification Fee as listed on the application form for the level at which you are applying
Include required documentation showing you meet the requirements at the level for which you are applying
